This came across my social feed today... The Office is having a reboot! Strong caption and believable photo that made me think... "Wait. really?"
AI has made us more skeptical than ever. And we were ALREADY skeptical! I want to believe that people mean what they say, don't you?
Here's a scenario: you have a GREAT first intro call with someone and you think it will translate to a lasting relationship. But in the next days and weeks, they ghost you. And YOU think "what the heck happened? We connected and talked about our families and our professional journeys and even doing a double date!"
Whoops.
We all need a collective pause and agree that is OK TO SAY NO. That "no" might be a "no thank you" but let's not lead each other on to simply get through the conversation. Our inability to be honest simply kicks the can down the road making it more confusing when we finally decide to not pursue that transaction.
The gift that keeps on giving is...the honest "no thank you."
A "no" makes us all better. Maybe not in the moment, but forever.
